Here you will find a timeline of study and what it entails:
About the samples
A detailed explanation sheet guiding you through the collection process step-by-step will accompany each sample kit. Once collected, samples are simply stored in pouches provided to that end. Samples do not require freezing. A reminder will be sent (either by phone or by e-mail) 24 hours before each due date.
About the capsules
You begin taking the capsules the same day you receive your study package, and continue doing so for 25 days.
For the first 10 days: 2 capsules / day. One capsule is taken as is (closed), the second capsule is to be opened and taken with a meal (or with yogourt or maple syrup - we provide the maple syrup!)
For the following 15 days: one closed capsule / day
About the log book
The log book provided needs to be completed every day for 25 days, beginning the very day you receive your study package. This allows us to monitor the occurence of side effects, should they appear along the way (i.e. gas or bloating). A member of our team will provide a follow-up to log taking, by phone, on days 14 and 28 after study package has been delivered.
About the questionnaires
All questionnaires ; those at the beginning of study as well as follow-up questionnaires, are completed online. If needed, they may also be completed over the phone with the help of a research assistant.
